Hetty’s Cupcakes — Why have I chosen this particular brief for this module?

A few of the notes I made today after reading and rereading the brief.

After so much deliberation of mind mapping, potential opportunities with the final outcomes and calling my twin sister to speak out loud about the briefs to a clean opinion, I have decided to go with Hetty’s Cupcakes as my chosen brief for this module!

So many different things drew me towards this refreshing and exciting brief. Firstly, I have never really done packaging design and have been looking to explore this avenue of graphic design for a long time now. Though packaging is included in the Mimosa Grove brief, which was my close second place, Eka’s ideas for her exciting brand resounded with me just that little bit more, and offers a brief that is entirely packaging based rather than a solely branding, which I’ve had a taster of before.

Secondly, I would love to use the length of this module to my advantage. I am in no way saying that I don’t believe this brief will be a challenge, but, rather, I would love to complete the module with a final outcome that I have realistically been able to polish, develop and pour my heart into, which I believe will be more achievable with this more defined brief; I would love to do this incredible brief justice. Having the initial concepts and ideas from the client outlined already, I can shift my focus towards thorough ideation and development that will hopefully 100% suit the brand.

On a slightly more personal level, to be handed an opportunity to potentially work alongside a black, female owned brand means the world to me, and is an offer I could never refuse! Eka clearly has so much inspiring love and passion for this business venture and I, should I be so lucky, would love to be a part of it!
